Things to keep in mind:
📚you’ll eventually need to study for at least the patent bar
📚 if you decide to become a patent attorney you will have to study for the law school exam, 3-4 years of law school, and then take the bar exam.

Why take scientists?
🧪Easier to teach a scientist law than a lawyer science.
🧪Patent law you need to understand the science of the invention back to front to be able to protect that invention fully.

Job opportunities to keep an eye for:
💻 patent law clerk/technical specialist
💻patent agent (passed bar exam)
💻lawyer patent examiner (working for the government).

🗣️volunteer/intern with your university’s technology transfer office
🗣️take a class on intellectual property
🗣️if your lab is patenting something, ask to sit in on the process & meetings.
